Matt and Jada's Wedding Day at
74 South at Moretz Mills in
Hickory, North Carolina

Matt and Jada’s wedding day was one of those celebrations that felt personal from the very first moment.

Their ceremony took place at the groom’s childhood home, which already set a meaningful tone for the day. But what made it even more special was the fact that Matt built the ceremony stage himself. It was suspended right over the family pool, creating a setting that was both creative and deeply connected to his story. Hosting the ceremony in the backyard kept things small and intimate, surrounded by the people who had known and supported them for years.

Later in the day, the celebration shifted to 74 South at Moretz Mills in Hickory, North Carolina, where the energy picked up and the party really got going. From heartfelt moments during the ceremony to a lively reception filled with music and laughter, this wedding had a little bit of everything.

Scroll through the gallery below to see how Matt and Jada’s day came together in such a meaningful and memorable way.

Matt and Jada’s wedding was a great example of how a day can feel both intimate and celebratory at the same time.

The ceremony started at the groom’s childhood home, which brought a strong sense of history and connection to the moment. There’s something special about getting married in a place that already holds so many memories, and that feeling carried throughout the entire ceremony. The fact that Matt built the stage himself made it even more meaningful. Seeing them exchange vows on something he created with his own hands added a layer of personal investment that guests could feel right away.

Because the ceremony took place in the backyard, the atmosphere felt relaxed and familiar. People were comfortable, conversations flowed easily, and the focus stayed exactly where it belonged, on the couple and their commitment to each other.

When it was time for the reception, the celebration moved to 74 South at Moretz Mills in Hickory, which brought a completely different energy in the best way. The space allowed the guest list to grow, the music to get louder, and the dance floor to stay busy well into the evening.

One of the standout features of the reception was the live band, which kept the momentum going all night. Matt also has experience as a DJ himself, so you could tell that music played an important role in shaping the atmosphere of the evening.

There were also several thoughtful details that made the day feel unique. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests created their own custom LEGO figures and placed them onto a board. It was fun, interactive, and something the couple will be able to look back on for years. Another personal touch came from the groom’s mother, who made handmade soap for guests to take home, a small gesture that reflected the care and creativity behind the entire celebration.

We had the privilege of providing both photography and videography for this wedding, which allowed us to document the full story from start to finish. From the quiet moments during the ceremony to the high energy dancing at the reception, every part of the day felt genuine and joyful.

Matt and Jada’s wedding was a reminder that the best celebrations often come from personal touches, meaningful spaces, and a group of people who are fully invested in the moment.
