Hunter and Katelyn's Wedding at the
Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina

Hunter and Katelyn’s wedding at The Biltmore Estate in Asheville had this great mix of feeling big and elegant while still being really personal. The setting speaks for itself. It’s the Biltmore. But what made the day stand out was how much of their story and their friendships were woven into it.

I’ve known Hunter since fourth grade, and we even roomed together in college. That’s actually where he met Katelyn. So getting to photograph and film their wedding at the Biltmore wasn’t just another job for me. It felt a little full circle.

A lot of the people involved in the wedding were longtime friends too. The officiant, the DJ, the person who made Katelyn’s jewelry, and myself all went to high school together. In a lot of ways the day felt like a reunion, just with a castle in the background.

As you scroll through their gallery, you’ll see a day filled with mountain views, old friendships, and a whole lot of celebrating right here in Asheville.

Hunter and Katelyn’s wedding at The Biltmore Estate in Asheville was special for a lot of reasons.

For starters, there’s the venue itself. The Biltmore is one of the most recognizable wedding venues in Asheville and all of Western North Carolina. The architecture, the mountain backdrop, the sheer scale of the property, it all adds up to a setting that feels pretty unforgettable the moment guests arrive.

But what made this wedding stand out for us had very little to do with the view.

I’ve known Hunter since fourth grade. We grew up together, and we ended up rooming together in college. That’s also where he met Katelyn. Getting to watch their relationship grow over the years has been really special, so being there to photograph and film their wedding felt personal in the best way.

They also made a point to include their friends throughout the day. Dakota Blakely officiated the ceremony. Sound Explosion kept the dance floor going. Maya Christine created a live painting during the celebration, and Katelyn’s jewelry was handmade by Haleigh Maede. The funny part is that the officiant, the DJ, the jewelry maker, and I all went to high school together. In a lot of ways the day felt like a reunion, just happening to take place at the Biltmore.

Hunter and Katelyn are the kind of people who make everyone feel welcome right away. Their wedding was full of laughter, long hugs, and the kind of friendships that have clearly been around for years.

Getting trusted to document a day like that for people you’ve known most of your life is something we don’t take lightly. This gallery shows not just a beautiful Biltmore Estate wedding, but a story that’s been building for a long time.
