Ryan and Whitney's Wedding at
Golden River Camp
in Marion, North Carolina

Ryan and Whitney’s wedding at Gold River Camp in Marshall, North Carolina was a great reminder that small weddings can feel just as meaningful, and sometimes even more so, than larger celebrations.

Their day took place right along the river, which created a calm and peaceful setting from the start. The entire property felt relaxed and connected, and because the guest list was intentionally small, everyone had space to slow down and really be present with each other. It didn’t feel rushed or overly scheduled. It felt personal.

There were also several family centered moments that made the day especially memorable. Both of their fathers are pastors, and they worked together to officiate the ceremony, which added a level of meaning that you could feel in the room. Music was provided by the bride’s brother, Josh Kaufman, who won The Voice in 2014, and having him lead the ceremony music made everything feel even more intimate.

Ryan and Whitney’s wedding at Gold River Camp was one of those days where the focus stayed exactly where it belonged, on family, connection, and being fully present in the moment.

The ceremony took place right beside the river, which created a quiet, steady backdrop for the start of their marriage. There’s something about water that naturally slows people down, and you could feel that throughout the day. Guests settled in, conversations lingered, and the whole celebration carried a calm rhythm from beginning to end.

One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was seeing both of their fathers stand together to officiate. Since they are both pastors, it felt deeply personal rather than formal. It wasn’t about putting on a performance. It felt like a blessing spoken by people who knew and loved them well.

Music also played an important role in shaping the atmosphere. The bride’s brother, Josh Kaufman, provided live music for the ceremony, and having a close family member lead that part of the day added a layer of emotion that would have been hard to recreate any other way.

Some of the most touching moments happened before the ceremony even began. Whitney shared a quiet first look with her father, which was filled with pride and emotion. Ryan spent time with his children before the ceremony, grounding the day in family and reminding everyone what this celebration was really about.

Because the wedding was intentionally small, Gold River Camp was able to meet every need without things feeling crowded or complicated. Guests stayed close, enjoyed the riverfront setting, and experienced the day as a shared gathering rather than a tightly scheduled event.

Ryan and Whitney’s wedding was a simple but powerful reminder that when the people are close, the setting is comfortable, and the timeline leaves room to breathe, the most meaningful moments tend to take care of themselves.
